Ruben is the top seed in Berkeley and had to compete against American Michael Genender (ATP-1924) in the first round. The Belgian won the match 6-2 and 7-6 (8). In the second round he will face American Connor Farren (ATP 1106).
In the doubles Ruben (ATP D-270) played together with Chad Rhoden (ATP D-1485). They lost with 1-6 and 2-6 to the top seeds Connor Smith (ATP D-328) and Rhyne Williams (ATP D-538).
