Ruben off to a winning start in Italy

Ruben extends his winning streak from last week in Italy. At the Guzzini Challenger (Challenger; € 42 500) in Recanati, Italy, he won his first round in singles and doubles.

In the first round of singles, Ruben (ATP-177) faced lucky loser Remi Boutillier (ATP-469). Ruben, the fifth seed won a tight first set (7-5) before dropping the second (2-6). In the deciding third set, a tiebreak had to decide who would win the match. In the breaker, it was Ruben who was the strongest: 7-6 (3). In the second round, Ruben will play against qualifier Alexander Bublik (ATP-442) from Russia.

Ruben (ATP D-235) also won his first match in doubles. Together with his parter, Adrian Menendez-Maceiras (ATP D-239), Ruben took care of the duo Setkic (ATP D-519) & Vucic (ATP D-236): 7-6 (3) and 6-3.
