Ruben misses match points in singles, but moves on in Busan doubles

At the Challenger Tournament of Busan (South Korea, CH 125) Ruben (ATP-163) did not manage to advance to the third round. In the doubles he reached the quarterfinals.

Ruben started as the twelfth seed in Busan. He had a bye in the first round and had to compete against the American Evan King (ATP-332) in the second round. The Belgian won the first set with 7-6 (4), but King came alongside with 5-7. In an exciting tiebreak in the third set, Ruben had to surrender with 6-7 (8). The Belgian was not able to convert one of the four matchpoints during the match which lasted more than three hours.

Together with Sergiy Stakhovsky (ATP D-205) Ruben (ATP D-257) was successful in the doubles. They took revenge for their lost final in Seoul and were with 7-6 (6), 5-7 and 10-7 too strong for second seed Max Purcell (ATP D-86) and Luke Saville (ATP D-82) with 6-4 and 7-6 (7). In the quarterfinals they will face Andre Goransson (ATP D-162) and Hunter Reese (ATP D-130).
