Ruben (ATP-124) remains outstanding at Wimbledon. He won his fifth match in a row and defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev (ATP-49) after five exciting sets.
Ruben had to face Russian talent Medvedev, who beat Stan Wawrinka (ATP-3). The Belgian started well and won the first two sets with 6-3 and 6-2. However, the momentum changed, Medvedev continued to put pressure on Ruben, who made some more mistakes. With 3-6 and 4-6, the Russian leveled the match.
In an exciting fifth set, Ruben immediately lost his service. However, he broke Medvedev's serve twice and eventually won the set 6-3. The match lasted 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Ruben reached the third round at Wimbledon for the first time, where he will face South Africa's Kevin Anderson (ATP-42). Ruben will also re-enter the top hundred and will most likely be on the main draw of the US Open.
