Ruben (ATP-202) was not able to reach the second round of the Rome challenger (Italy, CH 80).
Ruben played his first match in Rome since he became a father. He faced a difficult task against former number 17 in the world Bernard Tomic (ATP-210).
In the first set, Ruben immediately trailed 0-3. The Belgian was not able to close the gap and lost the set 3-6. In the second set, Tomic also needed one break to take the set with 4-6. The match lasted a little over an hour.
Ruben will be back in action in Rome next week.
