No upset in the doubles of the Davis Cup final

Ruben (ATP D-274) and Joris De Loore (ATP D-343) were not able to give Belgium a second point in the Davis Cup final against France. They lost in four sets to Pierre-Hugues Herbert (ATP D-13) and Richard Gasquet (NG). France leads 2-1 after day two.

In the first set, the French pair was too strong for the Belgian duo with 1-6. Ruben and Joris quickly caught up in the second set and came alongside 6-3. Also in the third set, Belgium took a 5-3 lead, but Ruben failed to serve for the set. The set went 6-7(2) to the French in the tiebreak. In set four, the Belgians could not convert their break points, the French were more efficient and won the set 4-6.

Ruben was very disappointed afterwards: "It is always difficult to serve out a set, that's just a fact, I had too many second serves in that game and then you know that it's going to be difficult. It's a shame because that changed the momentum in the match." Belgium eventually lost the encounter against France with 3-2.
