No upset in Davis Cup doubles against Australia

Ruben (ATP D-252) was not able to cause an upset together with Arthur De Greef (ATP D-944) in the Davis Cup. They lost in three sets to Jordan Thompson (ATP D-79) and John Peers (ATP D-2)

Ruben and Arthur did not get the best start in the encounter against Australia. Ruben was broken immediately and Belgium came 0-3 behind, the first set went to Australia with 3-6. In set two, the Belgians could follow Australia's pace until 2-2. Then Peers and Thompson put again pressure on Ruben's serve, they broke and the set went 4-6 to Australia. Also in the third set, Peers and Thompson were too strong with 0-6.

After day two Australia leads with 1-2 against Belgium. "They were very strong today, we started each set very badly, and they had the experience. Not such a good day today, but I have all confidence in David and Steve tomorrow. We will definitely need the audience," Ruben said after the match.
