Ruben (ATP-96) was not able to win the challenger tournament of Scheveningen in The Netherlands. He lost the final in three sets.
Fifth seed Ruben had to face Spanish sixth seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ATP-163) in the final. The Belgian lost the first set 1-6 and was 0-4 down in the second. Ruben saved a matchpoint, and managed to take the second set via the tiebreak with 7-6(3). In the third set it was again the Spaniard who got the advantage and won the set 2-6.
No second challenger title for Ruben in 2017, who won the tournament of Koblenz earlier this year. Next week, he travels to the United States, where he will be in action in Washington.
