Ruben (ATP D-276) and Joris De Loore (ATP D-346) failed to give Belgium the third point in the Davis Cup-encounter with Hungary. They lost in five sets to Marton Fucsovics (ATP D-368) and Attila Balazs (ATP D-204).
The Belgian pair did not take a very good start against the Hungarian duo. They lost the first two sets with 3-6 and 4-6, but were able to make a fist in the third set. With 7-6(2) they cleverly caught the tiebreak and also in the fourth set they were too strong with 6-4.
The fifth set was a real thriller, Ruben and Joris saved four match points, but at the end the set went to the Hungarians 5-7. On Sunday, David Goffin (ATP-7) won his singles match, leading Belgium to the quarterfinals in and against the United States.
