Brilliant Ruben upsets Pouille

Ruben (ATP-117) keeps on winning in Melbourne. In the first round on the main draw, he was too strong for the Frenchman Lucas Pouille (ATP-18) in four sets.

Ruben immediately had to face a tough opponent in the first round, he started strong and took the first set with 6-4 after half an hour. The second set also went to the Belgian with 6-4. In the third set, Ruben took the lead again, but Pouille broke back and won the set via the tiebreak with 6-7(4).

In an exciting fourth set it was again Ruben who forced an early break, but Pouille managed to get to a tiebreak. Ruben continued to put pressure on his opponent and won the tiebreak with 7-6(6). In the next round, he will face Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili (ATP-60).
