Ruben (ATP-92) was not able to reach the second round of the challenger tournament of Tiburon (United States). He lost in the first round to a home player.
Ruben started the tournament as the top seed. In the first round he had to face wildcard Tom Fawcett (ATP-1228). The Belgian won the first set with 6-3, but Fawcett took the second 3-6. In the third set Ruben went up 3-1, but the American took five games in a row and won the set with 3-6. The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes.
Ruben (ATP D-246) will still in action in the doubles together with Frank Dancevic (ATP D-660). In the first round, they meet the American pair Deiton Baughman (ATP D-544) and Michael Mmoh (ATP D-1215).
