Ruben (ATP-119) has reached the second qualifying round of the Australian Open. He beat Kamil Majchrzak (ATP-200) from Poland after three hard-fought sets.
Ruben started his match against Majchrzak well and won the first set 7-5. In the second set, however, the roles were reversed and the Pole brought the match back in balance with 5-7.
In the third set, Majchrzak forced an early break, but Ruben came back and could serve for the match at 5-3. He was, however, broken again, but at 6-5 he broke his opponent's serve and so he got the victory. The encounter lasted 2 hours a 14 minutes.
Viktor Galovic (ATP-181) is Ruben's next opponent, the Croat won their only previous encounter.
